Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to Host Inaugural “Twin Cities’ Men Who Cook” Competition

Sep 17, 2012 –  Men Who Cook is just one of the many events held in the Twin Cities by the Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This culinary adventure will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 3-7pm at the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Delta Phi Omega Chapter of the Minnesota Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is committed to serving the community, and would like to recognize men of the Twin Cities who share the same commitment. “Twin Cities’ Men Who Cook” is an opportunity to recognize the culinary talents of the men who serve the Twin Cities in a variety of capacities, such as elected and appointed officials, police officers, firemen, etc. This promises to be a lively and competitive afternoon, which will allow attendees to engage with members of the community and taste great food!

A panel of  judges will select the competition winners based on taste, originality and presentation of each dish for First, Second and Third place. Attendees will choose the “People’s Choice” winner. Category winners will receive a trophy and the overall winner will be recognized as the winner of the “2012 Twin Cities’ Men Who Cook”.  All chefs will receive a certificate of participation.There will be no onsite/day of event ticket purchasing. Tickets are $20 and are available to purchase on our website.

Proceeds from “Twin Cities’ Men Who Cook” will support the programs of  Delta Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated . Delta Phi  Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has served the Twin Cities area since 1948.  Our programs include scholarships to high school graduates, health education projects, Emerging Young Leaders program (engaging middle school girls in grades 6-8), economic development, the family structure and cultural enrichment, and AKA Day at the Capitol.
