Fort Valley State University features student team cooking challenge with members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Fort Valley State University students will participate this week in the second annual Healthy Iron Chef Cook-off to benefit cancer awareness. The cook-off, hosted by the American Cancer Society Colleges Against Cancer chapter, will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday in the FVSU Student Amenities Center, 1005 State University Drive in Fort Valley.
Each team is given $75 to purchase ingredients. At the time of the competition, contestants will receive a mystery ingredient that must be included in the dish. Teams get 30 minutes to cook the meal, and will be judged on presentation, flavor and ingredients used.
Four teams will compete for a $300 prize, which will be used to advocate healthy initiatives on campus. Last year members of Omega Psi Phi won and the challenge has become very competitive.
Represent sorors! We are rooting for you!
